Invisalign:
Invisalign is a series of clear aligner trays that fit over the teeth to gently straighten and shift your teeth into alignment. This is a great option for straightening your teeth without having to wear noticeable wires and brackets that typical braces use to straighten your teeth.
What is the Process of Invisalign?
First, we make an impression of your upper and lower teeth. Then we take a series of photos. These are sent to the company. Upon the arrival of your impressions they will generate a set number of aligners that will be used to bring your teeth into alignment. Since each patient is different the number of aligners will vary between patients.
What Is The Pricing For Invisalign?
Pricing is determined after the company generates how many aligners are needed to bring your teeth into alignment. At this time we will confer with you and decide to continue forward with treatment..
How Long Does Each Phase Take To Complete?
Typically patients wear a single set of aligners for 2-3 weeks. We will schedule you an appointment for each phase of the aligners to seat them in your mouth in order to ensure they fit properly and that no adjustments need to be made.
Do I Leave My Invisalign Aligners In All Day/Night?
Aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours a day to work properly. If they are not worn properly the outcome is not predictable. It is advised that you only remove your aligners when eating, drinking a warm beverage, any sugary beverage, or brushing your teeth. Do not forget to remove aligners if you are drinking hot tea, or coffee. Hot liquids can cause damage the trays.
How To Clean My Aligners?
Toothpaste is not recommended to be used for cleaning your aligners. The ingredients in toothpaste are too abrasive to clean the aligners with and may leave scratches if used. To gently clean your aligners you may use a retainer/denture cleaner, or a CLEAR antibacterial hand, or dish soap and rinse thoroughly with water after cleaning. Every time aligners are removed from your mouth they should be rinsed with water to avoid any bacteria growth from excess saliva in your trays. It is also advised to brush and floss after each meal before replacing the aligners back into your mouth. The proper cleaning of your aligners and teeth will prevent cavities from forming due to any bacteria from saliva buildup or food particles.
